Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname (born June 1st, 2005) is an American football Kicker. He is currently the starting kicker for the Orange County Otters. He played college football for the Humboldt University of Berlin.

Early years

Not much is publicly known about Alex D., other than he was a big fan of the German Football League while growing up. People close to him have told the media that his family moved around the country very frequently, preventing him from finding a stable basis in beginning his football career. Regardless, teammates from his high school described him as a hard worker, and often stayed at the practice field until he had to be kicked out by groundskeepers.

College career

Despite there being a professional league in Germany, Alex couldn't find a college with a football team. Because of this, he stopped playing football for his first two years at HUoB. At the beginning of his third year, the college created a football team, where Alex was the first person to sign up. At first he considered playing as a quarterback or wide receiver, but later settled on being a kicker in order to resolve the team's early kicking struggles. Like in high school, Alex often had to be removed from the training facilities because he would stay past training hours.

His college career yielded great results, as he went 51/56 in field goals (three of his misses being from 50+) and 66/70 in extra points in his two seasons.

In the middle of his first college season, Alex infamously kicked a 52 yard field goal attempt, which was short, but bounced off the helmet of an opposing player and back up between the uprights. The officiating crew was split on whether this was a good kick or not. Almost ten minutes went by until the officials declared it a good kick.

S15 Prospect Games

On March 10th, 2028, Alex was selected to play for the Pacific Owls in the Season 15 Prospect Games. He was one of only two kickers to be selected.

DSFL

Alex D. was selected 75th overall in the season 14 DSFL draft by the Portland Pythons. Despite not playing throughout the whole preseason, he took over the starting kicking position in Portland, replacing the previous two-year starter Roderick Castleberry. Alex D.'s first DSFL score was made on week one against the Tijuana Luchadores, a 37 yard field goal, making the Pythons the first on the board that game. His first DSFL miss happened on week 4 against the Kansas City Coyotes. The missed kick, an extra point, ended up having no effect on the game. He ended up finishing the season 42/43 in extra points and 21/23 in field goals. He also had 3141 punting yards off of 69 punts.

In the playoffs, Alex went a perfect 5/5 on both extra points and field goals. In the conference championship, a field goal with about 5 minutes left in the game put the Pythons up 3 points. The score stayed the same for the rest of the game, and they won 16-13.

Alex was awarded the DSFL S14 Kicker of the Year Award, despite making 7 less field goals than Marshal's kicker Spencer Lawes.

ISFL

According to some sources, multiple teams reached out to Alex before the draft. Though the teams have never been revealed, Alex has confirmed that he told all of them he would gladly play for the team that picks him. He also confirmed that the team that did eventually pick him, the Otters, was not one of the teams that talked to him. He was selected 42nd overall in the season 15 NSFL draft, and was the first kicker selected that year. Upon revealing his draft card, many people took notice that the wrong punting stats were put on it, instead showing Castleberry's punt average. Though minor, Alex has requested several times for this discrepancy to be fixed. His request has gone unanswered.

S15

Alex started week 1 of the 2030 season, officially ending Adam Anderson's 4 year kicking tenure with the Otters. He missed his first extra point attempt, which immediately spurred doubts that his career would last. Luckily, the doubt was soon settled after his performance in the week 6 game against the Outlaws prevented an Arizona comeback. He finished the season 34/36 in extra points, 27/31 in field goals, and had a punting average of 44.8 yards, making this season one of his worst in statistical performance.

S16

In his second season with the Otters, Alex D. won two Offensive Player of the Game honors, one in a week 4 loss against the Outlaws, and a week 13 loss against the Hawks. While he did score a majority of the Otters's points in these two games, it was his punting that kept them in the game in the first place. In both games he punted over 5 times, had a punting average above 50 yards, and had multiple punts land within the 20 yard line. It was this plus several other prolific punting games that earned him a spot on the Punter of the Year ballot. He unfortunately lost to the then Butchers kicker Kulture Fulture due to the fact that he had a greater punting average and Alex's punting attempts that year were a career low.

Unlike his season 15 performance, it can be argued that his season 16 performance was his career best, making 46/49 extra points (a career high), 25/26 field goals, and averaged 48.5 yards per punt. He also tied the record for longest playoff field goal, nailing a 57 yarder against the New Orleans Second Line.

S17

Despite no notable kicking performances in the regular season, Alex D. remained as one of the league's best kickers, going 39/41 in extra points and 22/24 in field goals, including going 2/2 from 50+. It was the punting game, however, that set him out among the rest. Though his 70 punts put him second to last in attempts, his average yards per punt was 48.9, 2.7 yards more than the next highest percentage. This was enough to get Alex D. voted as the NFL Punter of the Year. The Otters went on to win the season 17 Ultimus.

S18

In contrast to season 17, Alex D.'s season 18 performance is very notable. Two games were won directly thanks to his kicking performances. He completed all of his extra point and field goal attempts in these two games, including a field goal from 57 yards. Despite a very successful kicking season, he was unable to win Kicker of the Year due to the fact that Kulture Fulture remained perfect throughout the year. The same can be said about his punting performance. He once again had the highest average in the league, but this time was far in last place in punt attempts, and lost Punter of the Year to Sabercats kicker Kicky Bobby.

His performance in the postseason was perhaps his worst, as he missed 2 of his 6 extra points, forcing the Otters to try for 2 point attempts in two playoff games. Luckily, these games were eventually won, and led to the Otters winning the Ultimus for the second time in a row.

S19

Alex was a crucial player for the Season 19 Otters. 3 games were won from the direct contribution of field goals, including a nail-biting season opener which was, until the 4th quarter, a field goal battle. He went 37/39 on extra points, and 28/29 on field goals, with only one miss from the 40-49 range. He was the most accurate field goal kicker that season, which was enough to help him win his first ever Kicker of the Year award. It was the first time since season 12 that a player not named Kulture Fulture won the KotY award. On the punting side, he again was last in punt attempts and 4th in punt average. In the Ultimus, 3 field goals from Alex kept the Otters within range of winning. A late touchdown with a little under 2:30 remaining sealed the game.

S20

Alex's performance in season 20 was in some ways better than season 19's. 40/41 on extra points and 25/28 on field goals. 7 out of 10 kickers missed 3 or more field goals in season 20. And like with previous seasons, he was directly involved in 2 wins. However, a missed field goal in the ASFC quarterfinals ended the Otters's 19 season semifinals appearance streak. Punting was the same as the previous seasons.

Alex lost the Kicker of the Year award to Alfredo Crisco thanks to making 31/34 field goals, including a league record 65 yard completion. He also won punter of the year after punting 83 times with an average of 50, the highest average since season 10.

S21

The Otters offense was very strong in season 21. Alex D. went 43/44 on extra points, but only went 17/18 on field goals. Despite making so little field goals, he won his second Kicker of the Year award in 3 years. In the punt game, he had the highest punt average in the league with 48.2, and placed 15 out of his 74 punts inside the 20. Despite such a performance, Venus Powers won Punter of the Year after punting 93 times for 4335 yards for an average of 46.6.

In the ASFC Semifinals, Alex missed a 54 yard field goal attempt in the third quarter, which could've won Orange County the game. Instead, New Orleans won in overtime 27-24.

S22

This season, Alex D. was perfect on extra points and missed only 2 field goals from 40+, going 34/34 and 29/31 respectively. And like most of his previous seasons, he had the least punt attempts, but also had the least amount of punts in the 20 with 5. He won no awards for his performances this season.

The Otters went back to the Ultimus this season after winning a shootout against the Copperheads, 38-50. However, in a very close matchup, the Otters failed to reach the endzone enough and lost to the Colorado Yeti 25-24.

S23

Despite the heart-breaking loss in last season's Ultimus, Alex D. continued to be among the league's highest scorers. This season, he made 45 of his 47 extra point attempts, and 29 of his 33 field goal attempts. His punting took a step back after posting a punt average of 44.4, a league low. He again failed to win any awards this season. Regardless, the Otters again reached the ASFC Semifinals, where they lost to the Copperheads, 22-31. In this game, Alex tied a playoff record for longest field goal when he made a 57 yarder in the 4th quarter.
